If you’ve been searching for a wedding stationery timeline for 2026 — or 2027 — this post is for you. Most couples don’t think about invitations until around six months before the big day. For some stationery options, that timeline works. For others, you’re already behind.
Below you’ll find the complete order timeline broken down by suite type, so you can plan ahead, avoid rush fees, and get exactly what you envisioned.
According to The Knot, most couples underestimate how much lead time wedding stationery actually requires — and it’s one of the most common planning mistakes we see.
Your invitations need to arrive in your guests’ hands 8–12 weeks before the wedding date. Work backwards from there and you’re accounting for design time, production, proofing, and mailing — and that adds up faster than most people expect.
Ordering early eliminates one of the most common hidden costs in wedding planning: rushed shipping. Expedited production and overnight courier fees can be significant — sometimes more than the cost of the invitations themselves. Getting started on time means you pay for beautiful stationery, not logistics panic.
Your invitation is also the first physical experience your guests have of your wedding. It sets the tone before anyone has walked through the door. It deserves the time to get it right.
Not all wedding stationery has the same timeline. Here’s what to expect from each suite type.
Custom letterpress is the highest level of personalisation available. The process begins with a consultation and concept development, moves through design revisions and press proofing, and ends with handcrafted production — plates made, paper selected, everything pressed and assembled by hand.
This is the option for couples who want something truly one of a kind. And because every element is built from scratch, it needs time. If your wedding is in summer 2026, you should be reaching out right now. Learn more about custom suites here.
Semi-custom suites start with an existing design and personalise it with your names, date, wording, and details. You get the quality and feel of letterpress with a faster path to production — but “faster” is relative.
Semi-custom still requires proofing, press time, and assembly. This is not a fast-print option. If you’re picturing something ready in a few weeks, that’s not how letterpress works — and that’s actually a good thing.
Press Ready is ideal for couples who already have a Canva design they love. You submit your Canva files and Someday Press converts them into professional vector files for letterpress plate making — so your design gets the depth and texture of real letterpress, not a digital print.
This option has the shortest lead time of the three, but it still requires file conversion, proofing, and production. “Ready to go” does not mean “instant.”
Once your invitations are in hand, plan to mail them 8–12 weeks before your wedding date. This gives guests enough time to make travel arrangements, book accommodation, and RSVP comfortably.
It’s worth being direct about this, because it comes up more than it should.
None of this needs to happen. Ordering early is the single most effective thing you can do to keep your stationery experience calm and enjoyable. It costs nothing extra and saves you significantly.

Someday Press is currently booking summer and fall 2026 weddings — and spots are limited by design, not by marketing. Letterpress is slow, hands-on work. Each suite gets the time and attention it deserves, which means only so many can be taken on at a time.
The sooner you reach out, the more options you have. Start with a quick inquiry and we’ll talk through what’s possible for your date.
Not sure which suite type is right for you? That’s exactly what the consultation is for. See all suite options here.
